Cheddleton Museum

Since the early days of preservation along the Churnet Valley, Cheddleton has been a focal point for the ever-expanding collection of railway artefacts which now number more than 3,500 items. Around the railway several themed displays are arranged to present elements of the archive to the public. Plans are underway to make the archive more accessible to members and groups who are conducting research.

Leek Brook Junction Box

Our Grade II listed signal box is the jewel in the crown of this former junction and slowly but surely it is being awoken from its slumber. Preserved in the 1980s, external restoration was completed in 2014. Now as part of the Reconnect Leek project it will soon signal trains once more.

Historical Galleries

One of our most fascinating collections is that of historical photographs, with some going right back to the line's original construction in the 1840s. Many are provided for free to view online, with many aspects of life on the Knotty depicted over the years.
